Emy’s Services
Psychotherapy Services for Recovery
All services are offered as video sessions over a secure Telehealth platform. While I am based in Manhattan, I serve residents all over New York State.
Rates & Insurance
I have a limited number of insurance slots through Alma. You can check through their site to see whether your plan is eligible. They will bill you according to your plan’s policy. My private pay/out-of-network fee for a 45-minute Individual Therapy session is $250. Before we meet, we will schedule a time to do a brief FREE ONLINE CONSULTATION to determine whether we are a good fit.
I also bill out-of-network. If you have an insurance plan not covered by Alma that includes coverage for out-of-network services, I am happy to supply you with monthly invoices (Superbills) that you can submit for reimbursement. Many employer-based FSAs also cover some or all of therapy expenses. If you are not sure about your coverage, please contact your insurance provider’s Member Services line (usually listed on the back of your insurance card) and ask the following questions to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- What is my co-pay (dollar amount) or co-insurance (percentage amount)?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
- If I am receiving Telehealth services, does my insurance cover Telehealth?
Payment
I accept all major credit cards as forms of payment. Insurance billing is done through the Alma site.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
“Good Faith Estimate”
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
